Hi DeekFit Gym Pro users,
Today I found a bug in the deekfit.com service that prevented custom exercise descriptions from properly storing in the database. The bug is now fixed, so any exercises created or modified from now on will have no issues.
If you’ve created custom exercises with descriptions in the past, you’ll need to perform a full sync to ensure those descriptions get added to the database. Follow these steps:
- Open DeekFit Gym Pro
- On the home screen, tap the menu to expand
- Tap “Full server sync”
Sorry for the trouble!
DeekFit Gym version 3.8 has been released! This version has some bug fixes, usability improvements, and big improvements to sync performance for the Pro version! As of this writing (11/20) DeekFit Gym Pro has been certified and should be available to you now. Still waiting for certification for the free version, but it shouldn’t be long.
- (pro only) Performance while syncing with deekfit.com drastically improved.
- You can now edit and delete custom exercises, as well as enter descriptions.
- Switch between Metric/US units for each entry.
- Select past dates for new entries/notes.
- Reps/weight entries no longer automatically clear after entry.
- Fixed a few bugs that were introduced by Mango.
- UI improvements.
Update 11/21/2011 – Just got the email, DeekFit Gym (free version) has also been approved – you should get your update notification soon!
If you’re in Europe or other locale that uses a comma for decimal points, you might be disappointed to find the comma disappeared after upgrading to Mango.
Unfortunately, try as I might, I can’t bring it back (although I have raised the issue with Microsoft). In the meantime, if you need a comma, you can tap-and-hold on the period to bring up the option. Also, I’m adding an option to DeekFit Gym 3.8 to bring up a more full-featured keyboard instead of the digit keyboard.
I apologize for the inconvenience – hopefully this is addressed in a future update of Windows Phone.
One year ago today, on October 23 2010, the first version of DeekFit Gym was released for Windows Phone 7. A project that started because I wanted a gym app that better fit my needs for flexible tracking of workout data & online syncing, today also marked the 20,000th download of a DeekFit app from the Windows Phone marketplace!
Currently, Deeko Software LLC has released DeekFit Gym (currently at version 3.7), DeekFit Gym Pro, DeekFit Weight, Tabata Stopwatch, and Barbell Helper. DeekFit wouldn’t be the product it is today without the suggestions and patience from you, the users. Thank you for all of your help, and of course, thank you for using DeekFit! I thought I’d use this occasion to share some more numbers I found interesting.
As of today, there have been 20,031 downloads of DeekFit apps from 38 countries. In addition, there are nearly 10,000 registered users with deekfit.com. Pro users, who can sync their data with the website, have logged over 25,000 workout entries and created nearly 500 unique routines.
I’ve gotten lots of requests to bring DeekFit Gym to other platforms, and while I can’t give you any release dates right now, I want to assure you that iOS and Android versions are in the works, along with a significant facelift to deekfit.com. As usual, don’t hesitate to email me with any questions, feature requests, or problems. You can also contact me via Facebook, Twitter, or the DeekFit Forums. Once again, thank you for helping me make DeekFit Gym the great app it is today!
Oh…and if you don’t have it yet, check it out!
